Average Penis Size
June 13th, 2010There are tons of myths surrounding penis size. Although, some of them sound true, tons of studies and researches debunk them. However, most of these myths still continuously persist despite tons of attempts to debunk them.
One thing’s for sure, though, penile size is not determined by a man’s race or height. Honestly, no one can guess the size of a guy’s penis just by looking at him on the street. Studies show that there is no such pattern in telling men’s penile size, so guessing it by a man’s built is clearly impossible.
Size Myths Debunked
A certified research studied three hundred men and reached results which clearly bust tons of size myths. For one, men who are small do not necessarily have small penises. In fact, the survey show that the smallest penis in the group belong to a big man, five feet and eleven inches in height, while the biggest penis belong to a relatively average man with five foot and seven inches of height.
What’s interesting is that penis size can compensate with an erection. This meaning that a smallish organ while not excited can double up in size when erect, while a relatively large organ can only increase in numbers up to seventy five percent in size when erect.
Figures According To Surveys
So, what is the average penile size? This question can be answered in two ways. The first one is according to length, and varies when erect and flaccid. Surveys show that a non-erect penis usually measures around three to four inches from tip to base, while an erect organ is six to seven inches on average.
The second way to average the penis size is based on the organ’s girth measurement. The same survey show that the normal penis girth is five inches, but with a 0.5 inches standard deviation. The most effective way to determine this is by measuring around the thickest point of the penis while erect.
Again, the penis size varies a lot, especially when flaccid. A smallish non-erect organ does not necessarily equate to a small penis when excited, which is why erections are usually termed as the “great male equalizers”.
Size And Performance
It is, rather unfortunately, a common misconception that the organ’s size is directly connected to the male’s performance in the bedroom. Again, it must be emphasized that this is a popular misconception with no scientific basis whatsoever. A man’s virility is largely affected by his lifestyle and health, so the size never affects it in any way.
In the same way, penis size also does not affect the man’s fertility. That ability entirely depends on other bodily systems so there is no logic in worrying about infertility just by having a smallish organ.
However, if you feel unhappy with your penis size, you can always do something about it. Just a quick search in the internet will show you the many ways involving techniques, products, devices, and even surgical procedures to answer that specific concern.
